New Wolsey Theatre, Ipswich - Electrical Distribution, Auditorium House Lighting, Front of house lighting and power
We have been involved in the electrical refurbishment of the Theatres lighting and power systems.
This was split into two areas- Auditorium House lighting and Front of house lighting and power.
Working to ACT Consultants designs the house lighting was updated to bring a fresher more sparkly appearance.
More control circuits were added and altered to allow for the theatre to exercise more control over shows.
A new lighting layout on the ground and first floor and new power distribution systems have been installed.
Ongoing works have encompassed external area Parasols with lighting
A new two storey extension has now been completed with a new kitchen and stores on the ground floor and an extension to the bar area and dis/abled wc on the first floor.
Fisher Theatre , Bungay - Electrical Distribution, Stage Lighting, Stage Sound system, Audio systems, Video systems
This ten months project has included for a complete new electrical power and lighting distribution system, stage lighting system, theatre audio systems.
A new stage lighting system has been installed with internally wired lighting bars set as a formal stage arrangement and with flexibility for in the round performances.
72 channels of Stage dimming , 12 circuits dmx out control, and a separate House lighting system have given the Theatre a flexibility of use.
Low level facility panels stage right and left with intercom, mic, returns, dmx control, dmx out, dimmer sockets /non dimmed sockets enhance this flexibility.
Audio System wiring has been installed for f.o.h. paging, back stage paging, intercom, show relay, induction loop, public speaker system, cctv, bar bells, Stage speakers with six positions of use.
A new lighting and power distribution system has been installed covering all areas of the refurbished Theatre including a new kitchen, bar area, and underground performance space.
Hampton College Peterborough - Stage Lighting, Stage Sound Systems, large projection system
In the new Main Hall we designed a sound system for Stage performance and for future visual representation,
A fixed sound rack was installed in the control room with radio mics, cd-cd, cd-mp3, cd-cassette, mini disc player.
A 32 channel mixing sound desk with on board effects was used to give control and effects on one board.
The speaker system included 3 no 250w stereo amplifiers, 31 band dual eq. a sound processor, and 6 professional speakers.
With the sound set up through the processor a balanced system was achieved with memory for small stage performance ( two speakers )
full stage performance ( four speakers ) Cinema show ( six speakers )
A multi way facility panel was installed from the control room to stage right for intercom, mics. returns floor speakers in a mix of xlr, speakon. mono and stereo jacks.
Wired vocal mics were supplied with low level boom stands for dance and performace on a stage platform.
The lighting choice for this venue was 4 cyc lights, fresnels, PC, Zoom Profiles,
2 Followspots on stands were supplied with local dimmer unit
Drama studio
A wall mounted source rack populated with a 150w stereo amplifier, cd-cassette player, rack mounted mixer.
This system was mixed into speakers on stands with 4 no. input positions for flexibility of use.
Lighting for this space was fresnels, PC, Zoom profiles
Auditorium Projection system
A 5000lumens projector was fitted to fill a 6mts motorised screen.
Two facility panels allowed for input positions in the auditorium and the control room - especially useful for for laptop presentations.
A profesional dvd player was installed in the control room.
The audio inputs from laptops and dvd player were incorporated into the mixing desk and fed out into the auditorium through three amplifiers onto
three pairs of speakers governed by a programmed processor to give a balanced sound throughout.
March Town Hall - Stage Lighting, Stage Sound System, Presentation Audio-visual, Conference system, Stage Curtains
A design for a multi purpose space was needed for this project.
Our design included for a 180degree U shaped Halls T60 track with Black Wool Serge drapes set one metre of the walls across the stage area and along both sides of the auditorium to give a intimate feel for performers and also a crossover route invisible to the audience.
A 3mts pull down screen was installed behind the stage curtain with a projector and long range lens mounted mounted across the other side of the auditorium to avoid any interference with the stage lanterns.
An input panel for Computer, stereo audio, video. was installed at the rear of the stage for stageside lectures, and in the control room for use by a technician.
The sound source system was rack mounted in the control room with an induction loop system, show relay, cd-cd , cd-cassette, radio mic and a 250w stereo amplifier.
The speaker system consisted of speakers ( two hung from the lighting bars for stage performance ) two wall mounted on the front of the audience gallery to give flexibilty of use.
A 4 way speakon patch bay allowed for selection of any two speaker configuration.
The mixing control was by a 16 channel sound desk.
A video source rack was located in the control room with a dvd and vhs player and a tv tuner.
All sound from the video systems are mixed through the sound deck onto the main stage speakers.
The stage lighting has been designed with a flat grid of internally wired bars with all wiring hidden in the roof void. Two low level dip sockets at the rear of the stage were installed for back lighting.
All circuits are wired back to 36 channels of dimming
A programmable desk is used for the lighting control with a dmx point in the control room and at the rear of stage.
Stage lighting consisted of fresnels , Zoom Profiles.
March Town Hall - Conference System - Council Meetings
A conference system was supplied for the council meetings to allow for each speaker no matter how quietly they speak , to be heard across the room by other delegates and an audience.
This was a sound reinforcement system
This consisted of 9 desk mics and 1 no chairmans position. Each mic had a long goose neck stem for ease of use.
In a normal situation one mic between two is sufficient for most meetings.
A link cable was supplied for relaying the meeting to the audience gallery through the sound system
All of the equipment was supplied in an aluminium case for portable use at other venues.
Soham Village College - P.A System - Audio - visual
A P.A system with a simple to use amplifier and desk was required for presentations and lectures located within a portable rack.
This portable rack holds an 8way power block, a laptop computer, A dvd player. a vhs recorder,
a mixer amp and radio mics.
An external input panel has been installed for flexibility of use ,
A mixer amplifier with 12 channels of control and an onboard eq and effects was used to control radio mics, audio equipment, media sound.
On the pros arch are fitted 2 no. wall mounted 200w speakers on tilt/pan brackets -and 2 no mic points
An NEC 3500 Lumens projector with network card has been installed with an wall mounted input panel at the back of the hall.
This panel allows a plug in point for a laptop computer with a vga, stereo audio and video socket.
The audio input system for the projector is routed through the mixer amplifier to the speakers.
We have installed a dual use presentation system consisting of a Smartboard and digital tv . A high gain wide band digital aerial with mast head
amplifier was fitted and wiredback to a freeview unit with the video linked to the projector and the audio linked into an amplifier to give a multi use
system
College Heath Middle School - Mildenhall
A new stage lighting system was installed in the gym to give flexibility of use in utilising every wall as a stage area.
Two new lighting bars where suspended from the ceiling either side of the gym with 9circuits per bar.
Two 6 channel dimmers ( 24 outlets ) were installed with a 18way x 15amp patch bay all neatly fitted into a one piece wall rack. This patch bay allows for different sockets to be used on either lighting bar.
A mix of fresnels, Profiles and Parcans Lanterns were supplied to form a flexible lighting rig.
To control the lighting a programmable lighting desk was use with two control positions at either end of the gym for convenience for the operator.
In the drama studio the existing outdated 5amp lighting system was replaced with a 15amp arrangement which allows for any lantern in the school to now be moved from the gym to the drama studio if additional lighting is required for performances.
One 6 channel dimmer ( 12 outlets ) was installed with a 20way x 15amp patch bay all neatly fitted into a one piece wall rack. A 6 channel dmx manual desk was installed for lighting control.
All the existing lanterns were refurbished , tested and re-rigged back onto the lighting bars.
Witchford Village College - Drama Studio
We have designed an installation to give the best possible use of the performance space and the budget.
The stage Lanterns supplied - Fresnels, Pc's, Parcans, Profiles will allow for a very flexible approach to drama pieces.
To add to this flexible theme we have included a portable T-Bar stand and a bolt-on 3 channel dimmer - with two Fresnels and a floor parcan controlled from this point.
We have populated a Portable flight cased sound rack with a Professional CD Player, and as specified a Professional Twin Cassette player.
Lavalier and hand held radio mics were installed for sound re-inforcement and give the student freedom of movement in the studio.
All the source equipment is powered by a 200w stereo amplifier with twin cooling fans and is mixed down through a 12channel Allen Heath sound desk.
Two speakers have been hung from the front stage lighting bars angled across the studio to give clear vocal representation.
Input panels for the speakers and lighting desk have been positioned on one wall to give a control area
Black ifr Dimout drapes have been added onto an existing track to give a more intimate feel for the performers and also use as a back drop.
The result is a small but professional studio ideal for performance and rehearsal.

Stage Lighting and Sound - Main Hall refurbishment
We removed obsolete lighting bars ,refurbished old bars where possible and installed new bars in more usuable positions and with more circuits for flexibility, especially for "in the round " performances in the auditorium.
A traditional cyc bar, mid stage and up stage bars have been fitted and the existing curtain tracks moved to suit the new bars. A "u shaped" front of house bar with long side bars down the auditorium will allow for a flexibility in performance lighting
A sound system has been installed with an amp rack at the rear of stage populated with 3 no. amps , a dual band eq and a sound proccessor for balancing 4 front of house speakers and two on stage speakers.
A wheeled portable flight case source rack has been installed and populated with a profesional twin cd player,
a dvd player, radio lapel mics , hand held mics and a mixer sound desk fitted onto a tilting rack for ease of use.
Hanging mics have been installed over the down stage areas for sound reinforcement and wired direct back into the sound desk typically for use with choirs etc. Wireless radio mics - hand held and lapel have been included in the system.
Four Professional speakers have been fitted ( two in front of the pros arch and two eight metres further forward) to distribute sound evenly over the whole auditorium and balanced out through a stereo processor. This gives a clear sound throughout the auditorium without the need to raise the volume through a typical two speaker system
An additional pair of floor/ stand speakers have been included for stage sound effects and can be used to add to the main four speakers to give a six speaker full sound system and/or foldback.
A projector has been integrated into this system with a dvd player in the portable rack for video shows plus an input panel adjacent to the portable rack for computer/ laptops. All the sound for the dvd and laptops are linked into the rack and onto the four main speakers giving a very full reproduction. A laser control unit has been added to give portable control of the projector
The electric screen has been moved forward under the pros arch to allow for the stage curtain to close behind it and give a nice backdrop.
Stage lighting - Fresnels, Profiles, Parcans, Cyc Lights have been fitted to give an all round flexible lighting system.
Two 24channel dimmers have been installed with a Programmable lighting Control desk.
This system gives the school a lighting and sound arrangement to suit all their needs from dance, drama performance, lectures, presentations and traditional theatre.
Chafford Hundred College - Purfleet
We undertook to check out the Stage lighting system to locate faults - Lighting bars circuits were checked and reterminated in their correct order. The dimmer had channel problems which we located and replaced tri-acs as neccessary- reprogrammed the dimmers and desk and commissioned.
The recording studio suite was not set up in any way or form that was usuable.
We investigated, located all the problems with the equipment and cables. The cable problems were rectified and the equipment set up correctly.
A new system of use was set up through the mixing desk, digital recorder, sound sources, voices, eq and cd with pc recording also included.

1. We have designed and installed for a Cambridgeshire School which had a requirement for an agricultural area that needed power and controlled heating to various greenhouses, local power and lighting to potting sheds with the supply run overhead.
2. A project for two buildings and a toilet block for dis/abled workshops with lighting, power, emergency lighting, FireAlarms.
3. The refurbishment of a local village Hall with a new electrical distribution system for lighting , heating, cooking, local power, emergency lighting , extract fans.
4. The strip out and total refurbishment of a three storey listed commercial shop with change of use to accommodate a new hairdressing salon and a clothes shop. New electrical distribution to the 17th edition regulations, lighting, emergency lighting, power, security and smoke alarms system.
Specialist network lighting system finished in white to give a daylight effect over the workstations and spotlights for ambiance
